  • The new SteelUser is online

New features in ArcelorMittal’s e-business platform enhance the user experience and save time.

With more than 3,500 users completing over four million transactions a year,SteelUser has grown to become one of ArcelorMittal Flat Carbon Europe’s (FCE) most important customer information channels. On 18 June 2013, SteelUser unveiled a major upgrade which improves usability and adds new features. A key advantage is the reduction in time it takes new users to familiarise themselves with SteelUser’s extensive capabilities.

The changes to SteelUser have largely been prompted by suggestions from ArcelorMittal customers who have integrated the tool into their supply chains. The improvements and additions will enhance the efficiency of ArcelorMittal FCE’s most important e-business platform. This latest version of SteelUser is the product of a two-year development programme which started in 2011 with the implementation of notifications and the continuous refresh of supply chain data.

In this release:

  • Order Follow-up has been extended to all types of orders and the data display is optimised to enable effective analysis. The number of search criteria has also been extended.
  • Web Order Entry can support a large number of variables and most order information can be modified online.
  • Shipment and batch follow-up has been improved and results are displayed in a personalised format. Sorting of commercial documents can be customised. A multi-company environment is also available.

The user interface has been harmonised across all modules. All tools now include a download function enabling users to save information and documents to their computer. Search capabilities have been upgraded so users can enter a coil, order or invoice number and locate the relevant information in any SteelUser service. The ability to create personalised queries has also been extended to all modules.

To enable users to quickly become familiar with the new SteelUser environment, interactive web-based demonstrations have been developed. Within SteelUser,context-sensitive help is available and detailed support documents have been added to each module. Together these documents create a large library of information about what SteelUser can do.
