The unique spangled appearance of Aluzinc® gives buildings an exceptional and contemporary light-reflecting finish which will add beauty and elegance to any built environment.
Aluzinc® is a metallic coated steel composed of aluminium, zinc and silicon. It offers:
Aluzinc® Florelis has been specifically adapted for use on architectural facades. It has a more homogenous surface than Aluzinc® and is produced in one batch to ensure the spangle size is controlled.
Customers can emboss Aluzinc® with patterns to further differentiate a building. One such example is the Libourne Fire Station in France which utilises Aluzinc® Florelis panels embedded with a wave pattern. Designed by Atelier des Architectes Mazières and Agence Ragueneau et Roux, the facade's wave pattern reflects the purpose of the building.
Aluzinc® has been certified for use in construction applications by several European countries including France, Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
The shine of Aluzinc® can be protected with Easyfilm®, a chromium-free transparent organic coating. Placed on top of the metallic layer, Easyfilm® provides temporary corrosion protection during transportation and storage. The Easyfilm® also facilitates processing and protects the Aluzinc® surface from fingerprints during handling.
Aluzinc® is easy to form, making it suitable for almost any architectural application. Two projects realised with ST® Lumière Aluzinc® panels are the facades of the Mazelle and Paixhans car parks in the French city of Metz. These unique panels allow light to penetrate the building during the day, and escape during the night – creating a landmark building which blends with the built environment but stands out at the same time.
