Continuing the digital partnership

Antoine Van Schooten was recently appointed CMO of Industry and Digitalisation for ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products. Update spoke with Antoine to find out what digitalisation means for ArcelorMittal as a supplier, and for our customers.

Digitalisation provides ArcelorMittal and our customers with quicker and more efficient ways of interacting, anywhere and anytime. It increases the speed of transactions and decisions, reduces the chance of human mistakes, and results in less administration. In turn this boosts efficiency on both sides of our partnership, and lowers the cost of doing business.







ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products can now offer digital solutions at every stage of the steel buying process – from material selection through to ordering and delivery. At every point we can support you with apps, integrated systems, and online information.



We have invested heavily in the digital backbone that makes this all possible. That’s involved modernising our internal processes, implementing state-of-the-art technologies, and investing in the people who can drive this process forward quickly. But there is still more we can do including:



  • Automating transactions further
  • Providing access to real-time information
  • Developing the next generation of digital services.




Today, almost 90 percent of our customers use our basic digital services daily. In my new role, I am aiming to increase this figure across all of our services as we continue our digitalisation partnership.
