Whirlpool recognises ArcelorMittal with quality excellence award
Speaking at the supplier day presentation Marco Bassan, Procurement Director, Global Steel and EMEA Steel & Resins at Whirlpool said: “ArcelorMittal is not only a strategic supplier, but a real partner for Whirlpool. Our companies have been cooperating successfully across different regions for decades.”
ArcelorMittal has been recognised by Whirlpool EMEA for the high quality of its products. The 2016 Excellence Award was presented to the ArcelorMittal Group at Whirlpool’s supplier day held in October 2017. It is recognition that the steels supplied by ArcelorMittal had the lowest level of claims of any supplier to the company.
Even though the two companies have worked together for many years, this is the first time ArcelorMittal has received such a prestigious award from Whirlpool.
ArcelorMittal supplies Whirlpool with a range of steels which are used in appliances such as washing machines and tumble dryers, kitchen appliances, in fact every product category Whirlpool produces in Europe. As well as Aluzinc®, Whirlpool utilise a range of products from ArcelorMittal’s Estetic® Casa and Estetic® Classic families.
ArcelorMittal supplies Whirlpool plants across Europe directly, and through the ArcelorMittal Downstream Solutions (AMDS) network, ArcelorMittal CLN in Italy, ArcelorMittal Gonvarri in Slovakia, ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks and independent steel service centres (SSC) across Europe. This helps to ensure an adequate supply of material to meet Whirlpool’s just-in-time delivery requirements. The entire relationship is managed at European level by ArcelorMittal. This optimises the supply chain for Whirlpool and ensures the highest level of service. Technical support is coordinated through a single point of contact for all Whirlpool plants in Europe.
