Decarbonising steel

The coils were manufactured at ArcelorMittal’s mill in Sestao (Spain) using a high proportion of recycled scrap steel and 100-percent renewable electricity in an electric arc furnace (EAF). The manufacturing process is estimated to result in less than 500 kilograms of CO₂ per tonne of steel on a life cycle basis – significantly lower than conventional coils produced via the EAF route.
